The Madrona Community Council is an all-volunteer, community organization that has been working for decades to make Seattle's unique and special Madrona neighborhood an even better place for its residents.
Madrona Moms is an informal, fun-loving community group. It was created in August of 2000 by a few moms who met at Madrona playfield with their little ones; their aim was "to make Madrona feel like a small town." Through our wonderful email network of 1,100+ members, we help to support each other as parents, and as neighbors. If you are a parent who wants to be involved, contact us at MadronaMoms@yahoogroups.com!
Due to the many requests for membership, we can now only accept new members who reside in Madrona, and our immediate surrounding communities. If you are interested in forming a moms group within your neighborhood, we can share information.
We are a group of Volunteers who are committed to helping feed the homeless in Seattle. We meet regularly at St. CloudsPanther Partners, Madrona K-8 PTSA
Restaurant and the Madrona Presbyterian Church to prepare meals for the homeless. We are a non-affiliated group who welcomes
all and serves all. Visit our website for more info, and upcoming cooking dates and locations.
We welcome involvement from all Madrona K-8 school families, staff and community members. Our goals are to empower caregivers to find a voice, to advocate for all students, to partner in realizing the academic achievement plan, to create community, and to understand and commit to making decisions around equity.
Our board includes our school's Building Leadership Team, Grade Representatives and Officers. All school families, staff and community members are encouraged to attend our monthly general membership meetings in the school library. See our website or contact us at pta@gomadronak8.org for more information.
The Friends of Madrona Woods is a volunteer group of neighbors dedicatedto maintaining and improving Madrona Woods, and urban natural environment. Our group meets the third Saturday of everyone month to remove invasives, plant native species, and maintain the walking trails we have constructed throughout the woods. During the school year we also conduct environmental education classes for local elementary students. To find out more about our group and our work, email Deirde McCrary.
